1. AIDS/LifeCycle

The AIDS/LifeCycle is an incredible journey where cyclists and volunteers will travel 545 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles, California. This ride to end AIDS is taking place May 31-June 6, 2009, and is put on by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center.

The bike ride is designed to raise awareness and increase funds in hopes of contributing to health services and education regarding HIV/AIDS. The LifeCycle requires that each cyclist raise a minimum of $3,000 to go towards such efforts. I am very proud to say that I know three people participating in the ride. These women are powerful and empathetic individuals who will no doubt prove to be beneficial to the expedition and to the cause. Unfortunately, they have not quite yet reached their goals, and now have just a little over two weeks to do so. Please join me in helping them to raise money to ride for this colossal cause.

To my cycling friends Roxanne, Shannon, and Molly, your act of bravery for your community overwhelms me and your compassion is contagious. I am hopeful that you will see your goals realized.

Cause For Creative

Cause for creative – creative for cause. The two are interchangeable terms. There is always a cause to be creative and reason to be creative for a cause.

What is this?
My plan for this blog is to use my craft to showcase nonprofit organizations and charitable causes. My hope is that by writing about them, they will receive some well deserved recognition. Big or small, these organizations can benefit from any sort of donation. Getting the word out about them can help offer support, drive donations, attract volunteers, and provide many other valuable assets, to gain the resources needed for the issue at hand.

Why?
Honestly? These are trying times at best. Without each one of us doing our part, I worry about what the world will look like in 50 years, or in 5 for that matter. In addition, I often feel that I don't do enough as a human being. Life is about what you do while you are here and what you leave behind for future generations. To justify my beliefs, why not offer to help others while doing what I love to do?

What's in it for the cause (them)?
Recognition. Cause marketing and publicity, all pro bono.

What's in it for the creative (me)?
Peace of mind and the feeling that I am a part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

What's in it for the readers (you)?
There are so many deserving causes. It’s hard to know where to begin – it all seems so colossal. The long-term goal of this blog is to offer a one stop shop that helps you decide who to support and provides the proper information on how.

Recap: Cause for Creative has high hopes but they are attainable.

What I intend to achieve with Cause for Creative:
1.) Help good causes get the recognition they deserve
2.) Donate my creativity to give back to deserving causes and efforts
3.) Offer a place where people looking to support causes can come to gather information easily and effectively

Join me and the Cause for Creative, in getting creative for a good cause.

Love and Service,
Adrienne
